For Those Who Want to Borrow or Return Books

Book lending services currently available are as follows.

Borrow books at the library in person…Please check the “Office Hours/Calendar” prior to your visit. For book returns, the book post is available even when the library is closed.

We are not able to lend books to those not enrolled at ICU (including students of TAC member universities and other universities, except credit transfer students) for the time being. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

On and after April 1, 2021, as a general rule, rules for borrowing and returning books including the usual due dates (2 weeks for undergraduate students, 1 month for graduate students) will apply. Overdue fines will also incur, so please be careful.

As a special measure for the Winter Term, we will implement the following rules for extensions of due dates.

The number of times you can renew your loan period online will be up to 5 times. (usually it is only allowed once for undergraduate students and Master’s Program students).
This will allow you to continue the use of book(s) during the whole Term by extending the due date. However, online renewal of books cannot be accepted for books that have been reserved by other users.

Books that have been updated 5 times or more, should be returned.

We accept book returns by mail or courier service, etc. Payment of overdue fines by Genkin kakitome (registered mail for sending cash) are also accepted.
